A book that’s truly heart-warming!
Our 51-page book is a collaborative, community labour of love.
The book features poignant extracts of our contributors’ oral histories, alongside a selection of beautiful personal family photographs.
The visuals of our book are created by Jacqui Peet, a local Graphic Designer, who ever so generously volunteered her expertise for our spectacular. Jacqui, whose connection with us came about through our volunteer, Golesedi Maguire, who also guided us to local printers, John E Wright of whom have been incredibly accommodating of our budget.
The book was used to produce the KS Teaching packs and inspired the teacher at the Wales Primary school to approach us to deliver at the school.
We hope this book is a beautiful statement piece in homes, and thought-provoking conversation publication for like-minded families and their guests – hopefully stimulating discussions which encourage further research and personal growth and empowerment in Nottinghamshire’s Mixed-race communities and heritage, which can only contribute to our melting pot of love.
The Colour of Love book is available in Nottinghamshire Libraries and limited copies are available to purchase at Five Leaves bookshop and directly from COL through our Buy our Book link.
